Maximum Geek Delayed
Max Geek will be delayed until Thursday for, um, technical difficulties. It’s merely a coincidence that Lord of the Rings Online released yesterday, yeah that’s it.
The Maximum Geek Comic Cast
My new comic cast has a name, I’ll be calling it the Maximum Geek Comic Cast. I thought about a couple of clever comicbook related names, but they were all a bit too clever and not enough people would have gotten the references. In the end I want this podcast to appeal to hardcore comic fans, people just getting started with comics and people who aren’t even sure how interested in comics they are yet. Check out the Maximum Geek Comic Cast page and be looking on there later today for an article.
A Note on Comments
Just to let people know, comments are working, just don’t expect to see them immediately. I’m monitoring first comments at least on all new posters. The forums got out of control with spammers, I don’t want that happening here.
On The Topic of Names
As you know if you listened to the podcast (or read the podcast notes) I’m going to be doing a comics podcast soon. By soon I mean sometime next week. I have a pretty good idea of what the first show will be. It’ll be a different kind of show than Max Geek, first of all it’s just me, secondly, it’s all about comics (well as much as I can stay on any one topic at least). The main difference though is it’s not just about what’s going on in comics today. I plan on devoting a good portion of each show to the history of comics. The origin of characters, crossovers and entire comic companies are certainly on the list.
I plan on looking for a lot of listener input on what to cover, I want to keep the history stuff as interesting for the listener as possible. So if you have a question or a suggestion for a comic topic for me to cover, shoot me an email at tibbarerew@gmail.com or just leave me a comment here. As soon as I get the name nailed down the show will get it’s own page (hosted here at Max Geek, no new domain for this one).
Maximum Geek Vol. 2 Ep. 1
Maximum Geek has returned. Jeff and I bring you guys up to date on where we’ve been, where we’re going and what happened while we were taking a break. Here are the show notes.
- Where have we been?
- Where are we going?
- LOTRO
- Othe MMO news
Stuff that happened while we were gone
- Wii
- Vista
- Windows Mobile 6
Mobile Minute
- New Devices
- Palm OS 2
Comic and Games Corner
- Comic Cast Coming
- DC Comic Watches Flash
That’s it for this episode. We go on a couple of rants and we get a bit long winded, but it’s a pretty good show I think. I’d really like to see some feedback, so if you’re happy to see that we’re back or just want to say hi, or wish we would just go away again, leave us a comment. Also, be sure to check back later this week for information on the upcoming (and as yet unnamed) comicbook podcast from Josh.
Archive
I’ve gotten an archive page setup. Click Podcast Archive at the top of the page to checkout some past episodes. I listened to a few while I was setting up the archive and it was interesting hearing how we grew as podcasters and how our shows grew along with us. Our first episode was just over ten minutes and in the end we couldn’t keep it under an hour without really working at it.
Tomorrow night Jeff and I will be recording episode 1 of vol. 2. Tune in and let us know what you think.

Maximum Geek Vol. 1
Maximum Geek Vol. 2
Welcome to Maximum Geek Vol. 2. If you’re new to MG than welcome. We’re a couple of geeks who like to talk about tech, games, movies, music, politics, comics and just about anything else we find interesting that week.
Jeff and I have been away from podcasting for a while now and we decided it was time to come back. In honor of our long absence we decided to start our numbering over with 1 (and we kind of like the fact that Vol. 1 ends at 69. Hey, we wared you we were geeks). For those of you who are returning listeners you know we always try to stay on a scheduel, sometimes life gets in the way though. The plan this time around is to post a new Max Geek every Tuesday night starting this Tuesday, 4/17/2007.
You’ll notice a complete site redesign and a new way of doing business. Over the years MG has gone through some big changes in how we handle, well pretty much everything, this move to Wordpress is just the latest in a long line of site redesigns. You’ll notice no links to our old forums on this page and from now on, no mention of them either. We’re starting with a fresh slate here, one that hopefully will make our lives a little simpler.
For those of you who’ve missed out on past episodes of MG, I’ll have an archive page available later this week, it’ll have links to all of our previous podcasts.

- No takers on the M11X? I'd donate my MSI Wind, upgardes included... Yeah, it's a fantasy world I live in.
- If that's not enough maybe even a whole year. On time.
- Someone buy me an Alienware M11X so we can review it for MaxGeek. We promise if we get one we'll do a whole months worth of eps.
