Coming Soon

Mark June 26th on your calendar, Jeff and I are trying something new. Maximum Geek is going to be coming out only 3 times a month, in that 4th slot we’re doing a new podcast, one about writing AND reading, a literary podcast if you like. It’s the Writerly Stuff cast, we’ll cover books we’re reading, what we’re writing and hopefully keep us motivated and you guys entertained.

The Next Max Geek

Well we did record an MG tonight. There were technical issues and I’ll be posting a partial cast tomorrow, but it’s very short and we didn’t hit our main topics. But I’ll have the cast up tomorrow with notes.

Update: Too much going on today and some editing involved in getting this one up. So it looks like tomorrow for this Half Geek. Depending on how things fall out next weeks MG may be delayed, as soon as I know I’ll give you guys an update.

Maximum Geek Vol. 2 Ep. 8

Maximum Geek Vol. 2 Ep. 8 is live and ready for your downloading pleasure. This is an episode with some really great content (and really poor sound quality, Blog Talk Radio has its down side). As a result of the poor sound quality and various technical issues which Blog Talk Radio has caused the last two weeks we’re going to stop doing it live every week. Every so often we’ll do a special live show (which we will announce on the website). Anyway, down to the show notes. Most of the show is dominated by talk of the Foleo and its two recently announced competitors.

  • Speed Racer details
  • Starwars, the force unleashed
  • Canon 50 megapixel CCD
  • Pico ITX
  • Dells new uber slim laptop Link
  • Foleo
    • Eee PC - Link
    • Via Nanobook Link
  • What Palm, Apple and Microsoft have in common

I’d like to say thank you to our guests Alan Grassia (host of the 1src podcast and Foleo Fanatic and JAmerican (from the 1src chat). Alan will be returning next week to talk about something completely different, constructible card games. Again, next week we move back to our tried and true Teamspeak recorded podcasts.

The Maximum Geek Comic Cast

My new comic cast has a name, I’ll be calling it the Maximum Geek Comic Cast. I thought about a couple of clever comicbook related names, but they were all a bit too clever and not enough people would have gotten the references. In the end I want this podcast to appeal to hardcore comic fans, people just getting started with comics and people who aren’t even sure how interested in comics they are yet. Check out the Maximum Geek Comic Cast page and be looking on there later today for an article.
