A Writing Challenge
This challenge is not for the faint of heart my friends. First of all, blame Jeff, he started it. The challenge is 300 days of writing. 2,000 words a day. Once he told me what he was doing I decided to join in. So here’s the deal, I’m putting together a sort of word war page, it’ll list my word count and Jeff’s. If anyone wants to join us we’ll be happy to add you too.
There isn’t really any winning or losing here. The real point of this is to get yourself writing everyday. More details coming on this particular challenge (once we know what those details are).
Podcast incoming
Jeff and I have scheduled a time and put together a topic list for the next episode of Max Geek. That’s right, we’re actually going to post a new podcast. It will be up by the end of the week. Get ready to get your geek on.
Still Working On The Site
Still working on the new look of the site, so hang in there while I finish things up and make it look all pretty like.
Vol 3. is Here
Alright, we’re rolling out Vol. 3 as we speak. The new format is mini-casts. Most of our casts from now on will be ongoing conversations between Jeff and I which take place as mini-casts, about 1 to 5 minutes a piece. They’ll post first to twitter for people who want to follow it live and then as a compilation here at the end of each day for the more traditional podcast types. Feel free to get into the conversation in real time with audio or text responses via twitter. The great thing is we can respond to listeners quickly and get everyone involved in the conversation.
So head over to @MaxGeek on twitter and check out the our first few mini-casts.
Excuse the mess
I’m doing a fairly extensive redesign as part of Max Geek Vol. 3. So don’t expect much going on here for a bit. Definitely follow us on twitter though. Twitter.com/maxgeek.
Something is Afoot
You’ll see some changes to the site over the next few days. I’m not quite sure what they’ll be yet, but we’re reinventing what Max Geek is a little. Follow our Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/maxgeek to keep an eye on what we’re up to. Does this mean Max Geek is back? Yes, but we’re trying something a little different. Stay tuned for the changes, Max Geek vol. 3 is coming soon. Or maybe Max Geek 2.0 is coming soon, or maybe 3.0. Could be Max Geek the Next Generation. Maybe Max Geekier? Anyway, it’s something different that’s for sure.
Maximum Geek Vol. 2 Ep. 30
Hey, we’re back, sorta, but here’s a fresh (well recorded on December 2nd) Max Geek. Here’s what us professional underachievers cover.

- Dell 1340… interesting, maybe.
- iPhone vs. Windows Mobile
- New Zune subscription
- NXE
- Windows 7 no graphics accelaration required.
- netbook amazon ownage
- Notebooks for life
YAY!!
OK, something I messed with the last two days actually fixed the download links. Sorry that took so long, there’s a shiny new Max Geek sitting on my hard drive to be uploaded later today or tomorrow.
DOH!!!!
Serious problems since I upgraded podPress. I’m working on fixing it, downloads are borked until further notice. Sorry about this.
We’re Not Dead Yet
I know, you’re shocked. We fell off the planet for a bit and we missed our 4 year anniversary (yikes). What can I say, we’re both to blame. Anyway, we’ll be back with a new episode soon, we promise. Now I’m going to watch the Macy’s Parade with my my daughters, everyone have a happy Thanksgiving.

- No takers on the M11X? I'd donate my MSI Wind, upgardes included... Yeah, it's a fantasy world I live in.
- If that's not enough maybe even a whole year. On time.
- Someone buy me an Alienware M11X so we can review it for MaxGeek. We promise if we get one we'll do a whole months worth of eps.
